Carolina Evangelical
Divinity School recognizes that preparation for ministry is costly.
Students must work their schedules around family and financial
needs. In order to assist those entrusting their preparation to
CEDS, the divinity school has compiled the following scholarship
information. It is the student's responsibility, however, to request
the necessary forms, complete, and submit them to the appropriate
scholarship sources.
Friends
Church
Students affiliated
with the Friends Church are eligible to apply for these scholarships:
- The Christian
Vocations Scholarship, established by North Carolina
Yearly Meeting of Friends and administered through its Christian Vocations
Committee, provides financial assistance to members of the yearly
meeting preparing for ministry among Friends in North Carolina.
Grants are repaid through ministry in the yearly meeting subsequent
to graduation. Additional information and forms can be obtained

- The Evangelical
Friends - Eastern Region Scholarship, administered by the yearly meeting's
EP & P Board, provides financial assistance to members of
EFC-ER preparing for ministry. Scholarships up to $1,500 per
year are available. Additional information and forms can be obtained
from the student's district superintendent.
- The David
M. Leach Leadership Fund, administered by the Graduate Scholarship Committee
of Mid-America Yearly Meeting, provides financial assistance to
students preparing for ministry among Friends. Applications are
due by June 1st for the following academic year. Additional information
and forms can be obtained from: Mid-America Yearly

- The John
Sarrin Scholarship, administrated by the United Society of Friends
Women International, provides financial assistance for Friends
preparing for ministry as pastors, missionaries, or other forms
of full-time Christian service. Additional information and forms

Scholarships
- The Fund for Theological Education - This website provides
extensive information concerning financial assistance and includes
scholarships for women, minorities, international, and doctoral
students.
- Scholarships,
Grants and Loans - The divinity school has compiled a listing
of additional assistance available to students. Please access
the file by clicking on the link.
- Veterans
Educational Benefits - The divinity school has been approved by the
North Carolina State Approving Agency to enroll students who
are entitled to educational benefits under Titles 38 and 10,
United States Code.
- Tuition
Discounts
- Carolina Evangelical Divinity School offers tuition discounts
of fifty percent (50%) to spouses of full-time students (at least
six semester hours each half-semester) and to students over sixty-five
years of age. Fees are not discounted.
